The 2025 WVASN School Health Conference will highlight current trends and critical issues impacting school health throughout West Virginia. This year’s conference features nationally recognized keynote speakers, including Dr. Todd Wolynn presenting Trusted Messenger and Dr. Stephen Stroka with The Power of One.

There will also be dedicated time for school nurse networking in the scenic setting of Oglebay State Park, beautifully decorated for the holiday season.

A pediatrician with over 30 years of experience, he's earned a national reputation for his work in primary care, practice management, and vaccine advocacy. For his pioneering work in health care innovation and science communication, he’s been named an American Academy of Pediatrics Holroyd-Sheer Award Winner, an EY Health Care Entrepreneur of the Year, and a People magazine national Vaccine Hero.

Assistant Litigation Counsel - WVU Medicine
I have had the privilege of being a lawyer for nearly twenty years. During that time, my practice has focused on general litigation, employment law, domestic and criminal matters, and contracts. My career path has now placed me in the role of Assistant Litigation Counsel for WVU Medicine. As a Assistant Litigation Counsel, I am responsible for providing a full range of litigation and employee relations services to all of WVU Medicine's affiliates. My work includes a variety of employment based practice areas including employment litigation, and administrative claims regarding the EEOC, DOL, and WVHRC among others. I also have expertise in talent management, recruitment, retention, professional training and development; the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Unemployment Compensation, WV Public Employees Grievance Board claims, employee relations; and Title VII and Title IX investigations and other internal employment investigations.

Dr. Stephen Sroka is an internationally recognized speaker, trainer, author, teacher and educational consultant. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor, School of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University, and President of his company, Health Education Consultants. He has worked in schools worldwide for over 50 years, He delivers cutting edge information and skills in an entertaining, motivating, and inspirational presentation that lets theory translate into practice. Dr. Stephen Sroka is an internationally recognized speaker, trainer, author, teacher and educational consultant on health education, sex, drugs (especially opiates) and violence (bullying and suicide) proactive prevention education, school safety, brain-based learning, at-risk students and alternative-education, parenting, dropout prevention and leadership building for schools and communities. He worked early on with the WSCC concept (Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child). He is widely known as The Power of One speaker. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor, School of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University, and President of his company, Health Education Consultants. After he suffered a cardiac arrest, he realized that it takes more than one person to save a life. His message changed. Chad is an award-winning writer, editor, filmmaker, and teacher with a national reputation for communication work in both health care and academia. In 2007, Businessweek magazine named him one of the Top 25 Undergraduate Business Professors in the country. In 2001, People magazine named him a national Vaccine Hero for his work in health and science communication.
Dr. Lee was raised in Wheeling WV. Dr. Lee earned his undergraduate degree and attended medical school at WVU where he also did his resif=dency in dermatology. Dr. Lee currently dermatology with Mountain State Dermatology at Wheeling Highlands.
Lisa Ingram is an Associate Professor of Extension at West Virginia University. She holds a BS in Respiratory Therapy from Wheeling Jesuit College, an MS in Community Health Education, and an MA in Instructional Design and Technology from West Virginia University. Lisa began her career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and sleep technologist at Ohio Valley Medical Center before serving 15 years as the Clinical Director of Education and Professor of Respiratory Care at West Virginia Northern Community College. She has served as the 4-H Youth Development Agent in Marshall County for the past 12 years—in this role she has focused programming on college and career readiness, online safety and cyberbullying prevention, and STEM enrichment programs. Lisa is a Certified Facilitator for Real Colors and has been awarded many state and national awards for her Extension programming including the WVU Foundation Teaching Excellence Award.

Traci Hudson received her MS in Microbiology from Marshall University. Before becoming an Epidemiologist, she worked in several Research Laboratories focusing on Microbial Molecular Biology. Traci has worked as an Epidemiologist with the WV Department of Health in the Bureau for Public Health for 18 years and is currently the Outbreak and Emerging Infectious Disease Program Manager.
